Celebrating local history and heritage 

So, it turns out that, despite the sign above the entry to the Candelo Post Office, Braemar House was NOT built in 1880. 
Trying to answer the question of when it was built has taken us on a fascinating journey.

Some of what we have learned from local archives and other people will be displayed on the noticeboard installed on Braemar House in February 2026 to expose the fabulous heritage of the Candelo district.

With the intention of hosting 3-4 displays per year, topics have included the Kameruka War Memorial (1920) and the early days of the Candelo Public School (1868).
